The German manufacturer of stationery was founded in 1761 by Kaspar Faber. However, it was not until 1896 that Faber-Castell was given its present name by Alexander Graf zu Castell-Rüdenhausen, who subsequently changed his name to Graf Alexander von Faber-Castell.
Today, Faber-Castell is one of the absolute giants in its industry, with over 8000 employees worldwide and a production of several billion pens per year.

We are all the more pleased that our long-standing client decided to make this project a reality with us. The exclusive order was for a collector’s box to store ten „pens of the year“, which are published annually by Faber-Castell as a limited edition.
To match the great fountain pens, a great wooden case was needed, which we made in collaboration with Faber-Castell. For the case, cream-coloured MDF was used, which was lacquered with a glossy finish. Furthermore, the top of the lid was provided with a rimless glass.
The challenge here was to attach the glass permanently and securely without leaving a visible adhesive. Thanks to our on-site support in production, this hurdle could also be overcome. The case was refined with a chrome-plated metal front plate with the „Graf von Faber-Castell“ logo.

Inside, the case is covered with imitation leather and contains two brown wooden trays, which are also covered in a leather look and offer space for five „pens of the year“ each. The chrome-plated metal hinges serve as beautiful applications and ensure smooth opening and closing of the case.
