What is FSC?
The Forest Stewardship Council, or FSC for short, is a German non-profit organisation founded in Bonn in 1993. It is considered the most reliable organisation in safeguarding and enforcing essential environmental and social standards.
FSC is a recognised environmental and social organisation that promotes sustainable forest management. More than 200 million hectares of forest worldwide are FSC-certified.
Who is FSC certified?
In principle, anyone who works with wood products can apply for FSC certification. Once you have passed the FSC audit and thus fulfilled all the requirements, you receive your certification.
If one is FSC-certified oneself and all other producing companies within the supply chain, the final product may also be FSC-certified. If there is a break in the supply chain by a non-certified company, the product is excluded from certification.
What are the goals of the FSC?
The aim is to promote improvements in global forest management. The FSC logo is intended to create transparency for customers so that they can make their purchases more sustainable.
FSC thus ensures that minimum ecological and social standards are regularly audited by independent third parties and checked for compliance. If these standards are not met, a company loses its certification.
What does the FSC mean for Dahlinger?
Nature is close to our hearts. For this reason, we look for solutions every day to make our business activities even more sustainable. The FSC logo offers us the opportunity to change our product range to sustainable products, which we also label accordingly for our customers.
For this reason, we as a company are always working on sustainable solutions to add more FSC-certified packaging and cases to our product range. One of our new products is our series EDGE 138, which is made exclusively from sustainable materials.
We already use FSC paper in many areas of our product range, but we would like to expand this further. Our goal is to make our product range fully sustainable in the future.
