Johnnie Walker is a whisky brand of the Scottish beverage company Diageo and is one of the bestsellers in its category with its excellent Scotch whiskys. Time and again, Diageo surprises with attention-grabbing projects that make the hearts of whisky lovers beat faster, including the „Master’s Ruby Reserve“ limited edition of 400.

The Scottish whisky brand is not only distinguished by its range of products, but also by its exclusive stocks of old distilleries that closed down a long time ago, so-called „ghost distilleries“.
In the limited edition „Master’s Ruby Reserve“, Johnnie Walker used a particularly rare blend, which was released in honour of Master Blender Jim Beveridge’s 40th anniversary. For this, the Master Blender – who belongs to the crème de la crème of the industry – himself selected distillates from eight distilleries with a minimum age of 40 years.

Stained wood veneer was used to produce the magnificent presentation box. The outside was refined by individual engravings, for example the signature of Jim Beveridge, but also by the individual sliding lock with which the box can be opened and closed. For the inside of the box, overlay paper in nubuck look was chosen, which is characterised by accurate seams and precise placement.
Challenging in this project was first and foremost the exactness and alignment of all materials as well as the colour matching with the given references. Through the precision in production and the approval using so-called colour chips, the challenges were mastered.

Our team had great pleasure in this unique project and benefited from the knowledge that comes from many years of working with Johnnie Walker. So for both, Johnnie Walker and us, it was a case of working together to reach the next level and produce an impressive box for an impressive whisky.
